Why we Relay …

During Relay For Life, we thought we’d ask a few people why they were there and how they were spending the night. Here’s what they said.

A beautiful day for Relay

In its fourth year at Rensselaer, thousands of students, faculty, and staff turned out to support the search for a cure for cancer at the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. Relayers setup tents on the ‘86 Field and camp out overnight for the 12-hour-long event. So far this year, Rensselaer has raised over $100,000—the fundraising continues into August.

Tonight we’re celebrating after raising money to help fight cancer. The annual Relay For Life is an exciting time at Rensselaer where students and staff come together for an entire night to walk, listen to music, fight cancer, and celebrate life. Here are a few photos from the fun times we are having.

I hope this weather doesn’t distract me

Today is a really nice day! It was a little chilly this morning when I woke up for my 8 a.m. class, but when coming back around 10, it was already beginning to warm up. It seems like the weather is getting better every day this week. Since I only have one class on Wednesday, I had the chance to lounge on the roof in the sun with a few friends.
