A nice, short week of classes

Thanks to the day off for Labor Day, this was a nice, short week of classes. I was able to use the day off to complete all of my previously assigned work, even that which wasn’t due until the end of this week. As a result, I was able to have some more time to [...]

Done with the second week

School just started and it’s already flying by so fast that I barely notice the weeks go by. Summer’s over, but the fun is just beginning. School only started on the 31st of August and it’s already the second week. Meeting new people and staying active can definitely speed up any slow moments. So far [...]

First-year advice

Now Listening – “When Your Heart Stops Beating” – +44
Hey Everyone! Chris here again.  This week went by really fast.  We have a lot of your packets put together for orientation and everything is coming together very nicely.  I decided to use this entry to give some advice to you for your first year.  These [...]

Hey everyone!

Hey everyone!
My name is Missy, I am a rising Junior at RPI.  I am a member of the Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Team, the Ski and Snowboard Club, and will be one of your Student Orientation Advisors this summer! I just want to share a little of my experiences with you all in [...]

And so it begins…

I am very excited for Student Orientation to start. So far, we have sent out 1,167 confirmations with more still on their way. Other than getting your forms squared away, we’ve been working hard on getting everything ready for your arrival. A couple of things I’ve been working on are plotting out your class photo during NRB as well as designing the SO Staff T-Shirt. However, that’s just two of the long list of projects lined up for this summer.

We boarded our little Cessna and took-off …

RPI gives you so many opportunities to branch out and get involved with practically anything. Personally, I love anything dealing with aviation, so I immediately joined the Rensselaer Aeronautical Federation or RAF.

Ahhhhh … the joys of organic chemistry

All of us are wearing goggles and have gloves performing reactions, and the admissions office sends tours around this laboratory. So while you are performing a reaction you have a bunch of prospective students starring at you.

A campus is where individuals interact and build relationships that will last a lifetime

Where do I even begin? Well, I guess I already did. As a student you can either be actively involved with campus and have an unforgettable experience, or you can just sit around and play games, and eventually regretting that you never get involved. When my adventure began at RPI, I knew that I wanted [...]

The Union is usually the hustle and bustle of campus

Song Playing: Noots – Sum 41
Okay, so, I am officially deprived of sleep. The other night I had so many things to do that I basically spent the night at the Union with a couple of friends. Even though I was supposed to be getting work done, I wouldn’t say I didn’t have any fun.

Pedro – About Me

I’m a 19 year old Texan from the city of Fort Worth here at RPI. I’m currently in the second year of my mechanical engineering program and currently enrolled in Thermo and Fluids, Engineering Dynamics, Intro to Engineering Design(IED), and Materials Analysis of Uncertainty(MAU). A few things about myself; I’m part of the kendo club [...]
