My parents came out for Family Weekend; it was a lot of fun. I took them around campus (I got to be the tour guide this time). One of the coolest stops was the Annual International Festival at the Student Union. I ended seeing a friend I had made at Camp Sloane during NRB and [...]
These pictures are from a class project for one of the electives I’m currently taking. The elective is a seminar on the life and work of Marcel Duchamp, one of the most famous French avant-garde artists of the early 20th century. The professor teaching this class happens to be an artist himself, and he was asked by the University of Montana to create an art print for their annual Day of the Dead Celebration, where the art students there take the print and re-create it uses steamrollers and lots of ink on large rolls of paper.
These pictures are from a site visit I took the other weekend in New York City’s Chinatown with a group from my studio class. Our site is located in Chatham Square and the purpose of the project is to design a new library, a youth hostel and a community center all in one in one [...]
On May 2, the School of Architecture students had their thesis final reviews. It was a long road to get to this point, so we were all very happy and relieved to make it there. After all the reviews were over, the school had a BBQ party for us outside of the Greene Building on the lawn. It was a very happy time with drinks, food, and happy people. Later in the evening all of our professors came out and joined us in the celebration.
Here are photos of an intramural soccer game I played in with my team of archicture friends. There are many intramural team sports students can get involved in, which I think are great because I never had the time to devote to real college sport teams.
Here are some pictures of my friends late at night in the Greene Building hard at work, and also taking a bit of a break. Our final reviews are coming up quickly, so the building is very alive all through the day and night.
Last Friday, a of my few friends and I went to an opening reception for an art exhibit at the Albany Center Gallery, where some local artists were exhibiting their work.
These are some pictures and renders from my final studio project last semester. This project was a partner project that involved designing new dormitories. The idea for the design was supposed to be derived from patterns within nature.
Here are some images of the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies that I thought were really nice. I was walking by the building one day and really liked the way it was lit by the sun in one of the shots outside, so I decided to share some other interior spaces with everyone as well.
These are some pictures of me and friends goofing off in studio late one night. We made a Patrick (from SpongeBob) out of clay and a hat with horns. We don’t just do work in studio all the time – sometimes we like to have fun.
