Thesis party

On May 2, the School of Architecture students had their thesis final reviews. It was a long road to get to this point, so we were all very happy and relieved to make it there. After all the reviews were over, the school had a BBQ party for us outside of the Greene Building on the lawn. It was a very happy time with drinks, food, and happy people. Later in the evening all of our professors came out and joined us in the celebration.

We’re headed for the playoffs

Here are photos of an intramural soccer game I played in with my team of archicture friends. There are many intramural team sports students can get involved in, which I think are great because I never had the time to devote to real college sport teams.

Late night in the architecture studio

Here are some pictures of my friends late at night in the Greene Building hard at work, and also taking a bit of a break. Our final reviews are coming up quickly, so the building is very alive all through the day and night.

BBQ + carnival + elections = GM Week

Here are some pictures of the nicer days at RPI when the weather gets warm. The pictures are of some friends enjoying the nice day outside for lunch and also of Grand Marshall Week.

Student appreciation dinner

Today, there was a student appreciation dinner for the many valued, student leaders around campus. The full-time staff at the offices, who are usually giving us work to do, were the servers for the dinner.

Math and art on display

Last Friday, a of my few friends and I went to an opening reception for an art exhibit at the Albany Center Gallery, where some local artists were exhibiting their work.

Biotech Center in the sunlight

Here are some images of the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies that I thought were really nice. I was walking by the building one day and really liked the way it was lit by the sun in one of the shots outside, so I decided to share some other interior spaces with everyone as well.

The west end of campus

These are some pictures taken on the west end of campus that has some good views of downtown Troy and across the Hudson River—Albany can be seen, too.

Behind the scenes at EMPAC

Here are a few photos of EMPAC that I have taken while working there. These photos are taken from vantage points that you usually won’t get to see, like the above catwalks, lighting grid, or on the stage. There are a lot of interesting spaces in the building that you can also find on your own while walking through it.

Some of our residence halls

These pictures were taken to help give an idea of what residence hall you would like to choose to live in for your freshman year. Most first-year residence halls are located on Freshman Hill around the Commons Dining Hall. There are outdoor common areas between the halls to hang out and play games, where there is also a volleyball court. The Quad Complex is across from the Union on 15th street and Sage Avenue. This complex is more central in the campus and is near Sage Dining Hall. There is also a big lawn area outside to hang out in.
