Black Friday

Hi Everyone,
Halloween was pretty fun. I went out both Friday and Saturday and had a good time. Today is Black Friday, which means it’s the first ECAC Hockey opener. Tonight we’re playing against Yale. They call it black Friday because the RPI team wears special black jerseys. I’m planning on going with a few friends [...]

Halloween is almost here!

Halloween is almost here! Goobers and Family Weekend both went well. It has been a pretty easy going week except that I had a test this morning in Modeling and Control of Dynamic Systems. I was up pretty late last night reviewing since I was really busy during the day, so you can probably guess [...]

Halloween and upcoming events

Halloween is coming up! This means that my fraternity will be hosting an annual Halloween event called “Goobers.” It’s something we put on for Troy public school children. We collect a bunch of leaves, fill our hallway, and pretty much make it into a haunted house. It’s really fun to dress up and decorate rooms [...]

“Swine Flu”

“Swine flu” and being sick has mellowed down this week in my residence. Everyone who was out sick or in isolation is back and feeling better. The only thing going around now is a little cold, but that’s not really a big deal. I had Monday off for Columbus Day, which was much needed after [...]

One of the most stressful weeks I’ve had

This had to be one of the most stressful weeks I’ve had in my time at RPI. I had a two-part test on Monday and Tuesday, take-home test due Tuesday, lab write up for Wednesday, and two other exams on Thursday and Friday. You can probably guess that I was stuck in the library most [...]

Fall Rush Over

Hi Everyone,
Fall rush is finally over. Greek fraternities are giving out bids this week and creating potential pledge classes. A bid is an invitation to become a member of the fraternity. Pledging is the process they go through to become a full member, as opposed to an associate member. Each pledge process depends on the [...]

New phone!

Hi everyone,
It was another busy week of Rush and school work. I finally got my new phone. My old phone hasn’t been working since I’ve been back, so it’s nice to finally be able to communicate with people again. My phone also has a bunch of features that lets me keep my electronic schedule on [...]

This summer was great!

Hi Everyone,
This summer was great! I did an internship at a company in my field, mechanical engineering. It was really good experience and I learned a lot more about what engineers actually do. I also traveled to Peru with my family this summer. It was really nice to experience a different culture and spend time [...]

I hope this weather doesn’t distract me

Today is a really nice day! It was a little chilly this morning when I woke up for my 8 a.m. class, but when coming back around 10, it was already beginning to warm up. It seems like the weather is getting better every day this week. Since I only have one class on Wednesday, I had the chance to lounge on the roof in the sun with a few friends.

Greek week

Greek life hosts several events throughout the week, like karaoke nights, comedians, movies, etc. It’s also nice to have a lot of people wearing letters and representing Greek life in a positive way.
