
This weekend Omar and I went cliff jumping. It was a great way to get our minds off of the difficult tests that are coming up this week. I didn’t drive, so I don’t know the location, but it was about 10-15 minutes away from campus.
School just started and it’s already flying by so fast that I barely notice the weeks go by. Summer’s over, but the fun is just beginning. During Relay For Life, we thought we’d ask a few people why they were there and how they were spending the night. Here’s what they said.
In its fourth year at Rensselaer, thousands of students, faculty, and staff turned out to support the search for a cure for cancer at the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. Relayers setup tents on the ‘86 Field and camp out overnight for the 12-hour-long event. So far this year, Rensselaer has raised over $100,000—the fundraising continues into August.
If you are a mechanical or electrical engineer then you are going to have to take a laboratory introduction to embedded control (LITEC) class. It’s one of the first classes you’ll encounter that mixes both software and hardware.
Over the weekend, I had a chance to watch one of RPI’s a cappella groups, The Rensselyrics. If you have never seen a live a cappella group, then I would definitely recommend that you take the time to see one of their shows.
Guitar 101 is not actually a class at RPI, but this is a picture taken during my circuits class. Many professors may go over slides to teach you a specific topic, but, sometimes, it is better to learn with some real-life applications.
Learning does not have to stop in a classroom. While at Rensselaer, you’ll have plenty of chances to try new things. This year I decided I would learn how to play ice hockey.
