Spring break: There’s nothing like it

Ah, spring break. There’s nothing like it. The wind whistling through the lounge from the open windows, the empty residence halls on all sides, and even the enjoyable weather all combine into a feeling of complete peacefulness. Of course, that’s probably because I’m staying on campus for the break, but still …

There really isn’t much to do when classes aren’t in session. I’ve mainly just been sitting around and catching up on TV shows and movies. It has helped me work on Wizard Wars a lot more, however. You’d think designing a mission generator based on 3D terrain, twenty factions’ movements, past actions, reputation, and power would be easy, but it’s actually quite hard! It’d be a lot easier if all the art was done already, but it never is, so there’s no point thinking about it.

For today, I think I’ll get the scripts for the artificial intelligence finished. I need to somehow manage to make the AI think tactically but with enough variation so that all the factions aren’t like clones of each other. Making them fight differently is way easier than giving each of them a tactic that makes sense, yet remains unique. It’s something I’ll need to work on.

After that, I’ll probably go back to modeling pieces of clothing. Can’t have them looking AND acting like clones, after all … “If everyone is unique, then everyone is the same. If everyone is the same, then nobody is unique … I guess what I’m trying to say is that I want your pears.”
